I didn't join the fever originally, but I have been on quite the Lost kick recently. Mystery? Sure, I'm down. Sexual tension x infinity? Errkay. Hurley the gentlest giant in ze land? Yass Yass.
Now, I would be fine with just these elements. There are complex layers and the plot is woven in a way that makes you wanna play work hooky for hours and hours so you can find Claire and see the crazy French bitch electrocute some more islanders. It's good, really good. But that's not why I love it.
I love it because every episode is chock full of genuine, raw human interaction and/or experience: the way Charile offers Claire an empty jar, pretending that it's peanut butter for her pregnant cravings ("Dip your fingers in, it's crunchy"), or the way that loner black lady holds onto her grief sitting way up high on the dunes. There's something brilliant about a story that throws a bunch of strangers together by chance, making them join together out of necessity or pushing them to the brink of solitary madness. Moreover, there's something romantic about watching moments that everyday ole us remember, dream of, and cringe at.
Praiiiise the Netflix gods. There is life after 30Rock.

Fortune cookie: "All decisions you make are the right ones"
Recently, I've been thinking about bad decisions and how we're supposed to choose when faced with a million options: where to work, who to date, which friend groups to run in, and which books to devour. It's stressful. You don't want to waste your time stomping down dead end paths. These past three months I've been running in all directions. Trying to experience a bit of everything and push forward on paths that are the right ones. The thing about decisions, though, is that you're going to make bad ones. There are too many to make and no one is going to TELL you what to do. But, I've come to realize that that's kind of a great thing. An awesome thing, really. Being thrown into decisions, alone and uncertain, is the only way we grow and get better. Bad decisions are really quite good for us if we're talking big picture. Sink or swim. The process of it all (deciding, adapting, creating, and destroying) shapes us. We create ourselves in our own image. Yes, there are other factors and it's more complicated than that, but it's mostly just us.

Blud Mewn.
Last night wuz the blood moon eclipseeee!
*spooky music plays*
*Stephanie Meyer breathes heavily*
Now, the moon holds a special significance for me because, when I was a little tater tot, my mom (Kel) and I would say "Love you to the moon and back" to each other after bedtime stories. Somewhere along the way this all stopped. (Probably because I turned into a puberty monster), but...
...good news! "Love you to the moon and back" made a COMEBACK recently when I studied abroad in Argentina. Whenever we would sign off from the interwebz, we would say it, shout it, sing it. This time though, we did so in Essspanish. "Te quiero a la luna y regresar". Buenos Aires is a city I'll carry with me forever, but it also came with many-a-speedbump and it was good to have something familiar, even if that was only some moontalk from toddlerhood.
Aiight, aiight, you get it. Me and the moon are tight. Well, that obvi made me hyped to see the blood eclipse. So, a roomie, Kay-babe, and I bought blowpops (watermelon, duh) and looked out to see if we could catch it...
Thing izzzz...it was cloudy AF and didn't even start until 2am. So, instead Justin came over and, with blowpops in hand, we fell into the internet instead. How www.chihuahua-names.com hasn't gotten national media attention is beyond me.
Luckily, Imgurians pulled through for me with the lapsing gif above and the bomb Arizona shot below. Soi awesome.
+10 for you moon, you go moon.
Also, in case you didn't get your fix of GOT gifs from my last post. On pooiiiint to however made this gem...
All for now folkssss.

Versace.Versace.Versace.
GOT SPOILERS BEWARE. (Like you're not caught up though, Lannister pleasseee)
The return of spring is great for many reasons. Here are a few:
1. My birthday kicks it off. That means strawberry cake mmmkkkkk.
2. tank top season.
3. Warm.
4. Warm.
5. Outside Dartying
6. Eno Hangouts
Now, I love when the above springtivites happen. It's kewl. It's fun. But, there's one spring thing that trumps it all: the return of da television. This spring wasn't just any TV comeback, though.
DASS RIGHT
G.O.T. IS BAK.
Tonight was the Ep 2, Season 4 and let me tell you something. It should not be called Season 4 because it is not a season. It's a straightup SASSon. Everybody is throwing shade and giving reads and poisoning kings.
And I'm loving it.
Previously on the leaderboard for sass were these two hussies. Arya and Cersei. The eye rolls, the sword stabs, and the hair flips (yes, you can still flip that boy bob) peppered the first episode.

Shade.
Shade.

Triple Shade.
Tonight's episode, though, was a different story entirely. Arya wasn't even in it so bai you've been dethroned. Cersei was just too drunk to even be considered present so she's gone too. Who does that leave to usurp the Shady Thone, you might ask?
That's right. my girl, GMA TYRELL

The name's Olenna Tyrell, but because of her dope outfit tonight she is now and forever the beloved Versace.
In past episodes I had an eye on this feisty sartorialist. Like when she did this...

...I was like "I need more"
And more I HAD on tonight's episode. Yeah, yeah, yeah, baby J got assassinated but Versace did not even care. She sipped on her Merlot in her fine ass silk tunic and said "Bai little lion, haaaay Queen Margery". And it's not like I think she would even have changed her attitude if she was accused of being the assassin (Poor little dwarf). She is too old to care about eeeenybody. She does her, she keeps it real, and if she gets killed off I won't be able to continue.
Now if only we can get her to pose with a troupe of corgis and/or Meryl Streep...

Side note: I want to go to here. (You kno what im talkin bout Justin)

Mary the Piano Wonder
About the time I moved in with Mary the painter/dog-lover/wine-guzzler at the beginning of the summer, I had a spontaneous desire to learn piano...and play some pop songs, obviously (Gaga, Marina & the Diamonds, and the like).
Lucky for me, Mary already had a keyboard located conveniently in my new room! She was also nice enough to let me use her piano books from when she was a kid. These weren't just any piano books, though. These books contained wrinkled margins full of the illegible scribbles of Toddler Mary. After a bit of decoding, I figured out that Mary, from an early age, would not stand to have her self-esteem trampled on by some stuffy piano maestro. She was a star and C Major could suck it. Some of the highlights the Mary Piano Diary were: "F" marks changed to "A"s, "wrong" changed to "Way to Go!", and "Needs Improvement" changed to "Needs a talent agent!" To call that little Polish girl precocious would be the understatement of the year ha.
Alas, these kiddie books weren't doing it for me sooo I ordered some new ones. The one that I'm most excited for is...wait for it...Gaga sheet music 101! And even though I leave for Buenos Aires in two weeks (eep!) I'm going to try to learn all I can until then.
So sad I can't take Mary with me but maybe I can take a book or two and, when I'm missing Cross Creek Cafe (our local hangout), chuckle about the girl who dreamed of being a star against all odds.

It's Been A Hot Second...
It's been a hot second since I blogged but lemme tell YOU something.
Update on my whereabouts!
I'm currently interning at three, an Ad and PR agency in Atlanta. I'm doing PR for them so that means pitches, press releases, and general, random scribbled blurbs--anything keeping me writing is a plus! I also went to an Atlanta Rollerderby "bout" recently to help out with a photobooth that Moe's, a three client, setup. The rollergirl who helped us set up? Rudy Huxtabrawl. What a clevah lass!
In other news, I just got gum surgery soooo I look a lot like this now:
and when I find foods that I can eat I feel a little like this:
What I think it looks like: What is actually happening:

Spring, Sprang, Sprung Threadz
It may not be another month til springtime but the weather (sunny with a chance of sunny) and the new vintage clothing (baby green plaid shirts with a chance of striped rompers) says otherwise. Spring has sprung and aint nobody mad!
DyNaMiTe Vintage Clothing in downtown Athenz jumped on the spring wagon and AlliePop and I found some goodies. Flower corduroys, Flower romper, "unicorn jumpin through yo ear" earring. nuff said.
Also, it may not be a "spring thing" piece but Lori, The Vintage Vixen, was holdin the most bomb fur vest for me. Black n White for when I become a Brooklynite (left)
Also, found this baby plant peeking out of the corner of Jittery Joes Coffee Shop when I was doin homewerk.

Below is what became of my purple pants. I guess I gotta bleach those suckers completely noww. Washed Out Plum? #DontHateIt
Now I zzzzz. Midterms Upon Us! I am toast.

If This, Then Happy
At the start of this semester I may have gobbed about how my creative writing teacher, McKnight, was da bee's knees. The greatest. EL JEFE. I also might have mentioned that if your fictional short story was good enough he would read it in class.
First piece I wrote...he TO' APART. to shreds. Fair enough though--twas a bit of rubbish.
But my most recent attempt? He loved it! (and he read it in his smoky, slow-as-molasses voice in front of all my fellow story crafters)
Great week booster for a stressed out lank covered to his ears in dough and internship applications.
So, so, so, I thought I'd also blast my little ditty out here. Nothing like a "Yes And" to up the ante from a room of 12 people to the InterWebz.
Click for the full story and disfrutaaaa!
If This, Then Happy
I am sitting at the top of Tootsie Falls, shivering my skinny white ass off. How was I supposed to know March would be so cold when I asked moms & pops for a Cedar Rapids Birthday Pass? I am 13 today...

Werk, Werk Doughboy.
It has been a while my sweet interweb canvas.
Update, Holla, Holla.
Last week was NYC Fashion Week!
Howeverrrrr due to the poor timing of the blizzard of 2013 I didn't make it up to see muh main gypsy, Stefania. :(
Glad to have the Sartorialist in my life cuz there was some crazy good threads flowin down that runway.
jumpsuit yo diggity do.

...and some Dolce & Gabbana flower coats. GET AT MEH.
Soooo, instead of faring the wintry beast, I kicked it in Ath and so glad I did. Dancing commenced, per usual, and February rooftop-mimosa shenanigans happened, too. (The weather has been quirkin up lately)
In other news, I got a job! So I can pay for my 21st bday in VeGaZzzz.
I am working at a cookie factory called Always Baked and it's da bomb. Fing-smackin cookies.Catchy tunes. my main roomie Allie (got me the job). what could be better? Nada.
But, on a doughier note, I cannot stop eating the little nuggets of joy. We even sell deep fried cookie dough. Ahhh so gewd. Watch out, here comes my journey to dough-hood
......one crumble at a time.
Also, creative writing goes well with the Reggmeister but I need to stop makin my stories so formal. Just sit and let it flow outta ya, says Reg. Hopefully this blog-vomiting helps a bit.
Gonna give it a whirllll. Toot-a-loooo, trollops!

New Year Hurr. Dread Reggie, Wordsmith.
New Year Up In Hurrrr. 2 0 1 3
Got to travel a bit during the December hiatus. Among the highlights were Amsterdam where I visited a friend who lives there and the vintage shopping was GOLDEN. Got a couple ponchos and a big.fur.hood.coat. Macklemore im coming for youu.
I also made it to San Fran and then LA for the New Year.
San Fran involved some Muir Woods wanderings (can't get enough of those grandmother Redwoods)
anddd going out in the Castro&Market St. The streets along the Mission district are full of vibrant, colorful muses, dirty dream-trapped hippies, and foreign street vendors bright-eyed with the prospect of a quick buck one of their Panda hats could bring. I also stumbled upon a Pug in a Wagon on the beach. So, there's that.
Once in LA, the clock struck twelve and Britney and I were jamming to "Lucky".
Grade A Karoake for another bombdiggity year.
Now it's back to the Classicc City and classes started today!
First class-Creative Writing. And my teacher is an older, African American with longggg dreads named Reggie.
He's one of the most passionate people about writing I've ever met. But in a subtle way. Like when he talks he whispers, as if the craft he speaks of is too hallowed to say at a regular volume. I LOVE HIM.
We're writing only short stories and his last line of today's class to defend the glory of a good short story was: "Novels are the most unnatural form of narratives. Humans, you, me, him, speak in anecdotes. Legends, myths, oral lessons, are all passed down in anecdotes. The short story is an anecdote and we've been doing it for thousands of years and, if you ask me, we've gotten pretty good"
Of course he whispered such a thing in his smoky, smooth manner and it got me super pumped to start! First story's due in a week. Leyyygo.

Marina.and da Cheetah Pumps.
Marina and the diaaamonds two nights ago in Atlanta was pop pop poppinnnn. Cant get enough of that electra heart. However, a few qualms:
1. It was a weird mix of middle school señoritas and Atlanta gays. Definitely made for some friction in dat pit.
2. marina was sporting fluffy, feathered cheetah pumps that belong only on the wrinkled feet of a suburban housewife cougar
3. NO ONE WAS GETTIN THEIR GROOVE ON. Ppl ppl, if you in da pit dance or find an exit. Aye aye.
Those aside tho whatta talented mamasita. Snapped some pics---whoooop
In other news! Just landed in NYC to get tipsy with my gypsy Stefania. Cuddled in a warm Brooklyn nook right now about to go to the parrkkk then tonight its probs karaoke and some jiggin. Then it's off to Amsterdam tomorrow to see Evi, my Dutch amante!
Keep ya posted. Baiiii.

Hotty Toddy CinnaSpicy
The year's coming to an end rapidlyy and I've been spending way more time with the roomies because as soon as finals end we'll all scurry to our own little burrows and I won't see em til JaNuArY! Been a waay crazy ride with my 7 lady steed babes so far and I can't wait to gallop with em come spring.
Last night we went night walking all together and wandered around downtown Athens. Christmas tree selfies, gangly crazy-eyed musician rambles, and milkshake sippin while people watchin ensued, naturally and I was Asparagusin real harddd (footnote--Asparagus=grin to grin smiling). We also raced home and I dont wanna toot-a-toot-toot my own horn but I hailed as victor. :)))
Today, it was more...that's right!... roomie Athens tromping. Yes, I have a final on Tuesday but I just want to fall in love with the Classic City all over again. Gawwwd get off my backkk boooks/schooltyme

Me and AlPal went thriftinggg (AgOrA & MiNx) and found some gemz. But we have no monies so we just snapped these (professional quality) photographs and scooted ouutaa there.
Michael Jackson Action Figure. Jean Jowboy Joots. Leopard Heel Sofa Chair. Athens Vintage you tempt me with your treasures. Alas, they were all out of our pricerange. But Allie did walk away with a hotdog sweatshirt (it's scratch-n-sniff!) so holla hollaaaaa. WIN.
Also, because its hoiDaaaay time the RENTS have beens sending finals survival/yuletide boxes.
2Gewd2Me Tom&Kel. Anddd, Lauren's madre got us each something too! Lotion for the girls and a candle for meh cuz im the boy of the house. AND LUCKY FOR HER CINNAMON HOTTY TODDY IS THIS BOYS FAVORITE CANDLE FLAVAH WHOOOP WHOOP. Lightin dat shit

Pretend Study, Actually FunDay
Books, books, books. We hittin em.
Today marks the odd and mysterious READING DAY tradition in Athens. Technically, it's a day of no class where the university guilts you into beginning your studies. In reality, it's just a day for students to PRETEND their hunkering down for this upcoming week of hell. From pencil sharpening to offering alms to PandaPanda, the god of studies, students everywhere fool themselves into thinking they're ready for the Sandy-magnitude storm ahead.
...My house is no different. And after sharpening a few pencils myself already, I am ready to hit.da.town. with the roomies. However, in addition to making this a day of "pretend studying, actual fun time", ima go one step further. It's DTYD. Designated Treat Yoself Day. Yah, ya heard meh. treattinnnn myselfff all daaaay.
Chipotle double stuffed burrito? MMmmm jess senorita.
Galloping horse vintage sweater at Dynamite? OH NEIGH.
North campus tree climbing in gecko toe shoes? Betcho bottom dolla.holla.
These are just the tip of the iceberg for this fine Wednesday of treatery.
Also, as I've been pretend studying I've stumbled on some prutttyy great non-study material:
1. St. Lucia-the band
2. Picantes Mexicana Grill
Although their salsa tastes like cold tomato soup, their fajita quesadilla had to be made by Montezuma himself with it's tangy onion/pepper accents and creamy cheese overflow. Bueno que nunca.
In other news, I just tried to google the Picante logo and all that came up were latina booties/boobies. so just go there yoself--on Broad Street, chicos.
P.S. Remember to treat yoself todaaaay, you too biochem shawtys. i see you.

Party Deer and the Bullet Slippers
WeekendOnFire.
Kel Moyzie (Good ole mom) shuffled into town Friday night to cheer me up cuz I've been havin dat strep throat for a couple daysss-yuck. First it was to le cinema to see Looper. Turned out to be a dolla theater (bang for our buck) anddd the movie was one of the best I've seen in 2012 even if Joseph Gordon Lewitt looked crayweird with all the makeup he was wearing. TrEaT yoself to this. Spoiler Alert: You will laugh, you will cry, you will fall in love.
Laterr we went and got burgs and feta crumble sweet potato fries at Clocked! Mmm baby. I don't know if you know this butttt me and K can feaasst on some sweet potato fries. AND FEAST WE DID. You know we ate dat whole bucket and then some. zesty.
After that it was off to mosey at a couple art exit shows at L.Doddd before Kel headed back to Roswell (Land of 1000 suburbanites). Among the pieces a couple stuck out and I snapped some piccccsss.
Hercules Muses Bullet Stilettos-BOOMTOWN.
Fragmented Femininity 1950s
After Kelly said her farewells, it was time for me to hit the books....
......JUST KIDDING NERDZZZZZ.
I lathered my face with some flashy paints (to match the pattern of my hat!) and tromped off to see Cherub at New Earth Music Hall.
Afterwards we hung out with the band at a seeeedy house but it ended up still being a good, dub melting shindig.
Allie Keller also found a party deer. Definitely need one of these for the stable--only in horse form, duh.
Nothing like a weekend full of mom&roomie lovin :)
Now forreall tho I am locking myself in the library. oyeeeeeeee papi. final push. leyygo.

Weekend Weathered
W.E.A.T.H.E.R.
Lank
For some reason, I can't shake this achy shakes-n-sniffles bug I've caugght and eees killin meh. Nyquil cocktails and 30Rock marathons simply aren't cuttin it anyMO. So, if anyone knows any voodoo, make-ya-feel-peachy recipes I'm all ears cuz im readaay to be healthaay.
Since I have so much time on my hands right now, I've been Netflix-a-wanderin and found some films that really resonate. Among the most recent was a SXSW acclaimed foreign indie flick called Weekend.
It's a commentary on the oppression of gay behavior in London, and what sex, love, and freedom within a relationship all kinda mean. Melancholia to the MAX but, to be fair, it's set in London and they've really got the market cornered on drizzly dreariness. Great.GREAT. soundtrack. Makes you feel like you're moping around town with ya mates.

Anyway, offff to delve into more netTHIS and netTHAT. Also, gonna drag myself to class at some point. womppppppp-Happy Wednesday scalawagssss.

Gobble Gone, Cringle-A-Comin
Gobble gobble.

Now that we're nearing December, Turkey dreamin fades and Christmas spirit is slowly creeping it's way on Athenians everywhere. Downtown Ath trees seem to have a lil extra somethin somethin in their branches (elves did it!) and Christmas songs are starting to take over the airwavessss.
While everyone can feel the creepin Cris Cringle vibes, the lady with the most Christmas cheer remains my stable mate Allie K Baby. Upon her return, she decked our STALLS with mammoth inflatable snowglobes fa la la la la la la la. Also, she has imposed Christmas rule on the house and if you don't wear one of the many assorted Christmas hats while in tha stable, you gon get some coal shawwwwtyyy. That lil snowflake gurl cannot be stopped and she miiiight be turning this Scrooge to the red&green side.
Also, it's crunch tymee school-wise so people are gettin StResSeedddd. Only two weeks though and we can drink spiked eggnog to our Christmas-luvvin hearts content :)
Turkey day has come and gone and after taking a minor hiatus from blog-noggin to nurse myself into a cranberry sauce and green bean casserole food coma, I'm BaCk monkeyzzz.
Feelin refreshed after a weeklong festivus characterized by every type of family competition us bloodthirsty Moyers could muster. Ladderball, Settlers of Catan, Mario Party, and Dodgeball to name a feww (Grandma even tried to be a dodgeball thrower but lezz be honest, that cannon aint what it used to be and you have 7 toes to stand on)

One of the best weekends of my entire dayummm life, people.

RePtArdation. Reptar (the band, duh.) played an exuberant joyous set and me, Corinne, and all the steed baby roomies went to cheer em on! It's been really great to see Reptar evolve from our little Athens baby band to the electronic, bounce-around successful group they are now (and growin biggah!) Also, after the show (1AMish) those gangly Reptarians just started playing in the pit as people were leaving. We just haddta staaay. After, Corinne tried to blow on a trumpet (a real one) and fail fail FAILED. Alls well though because the Reptar man was waay cool about it. MARRY ME REPTAR.
STOP------Get Viddy wit it.
After, me and da roomies went to PostParty on our stable grounds. Shoutout to Jandro Mono for coming through with glowsticks, sparklers, blacklights and a strobe. #partyonadime. Sparklers were pranced around with on the roof, naturally, and my room turned into a Rave Fantasy (#throwback)

SAT_DAY
The best part of this day was not in the means, but the end. Finished it off playing a Colombian version of poker with some awesome older, sassy Colombianas. Struggling to speak Spanish but at least I entertained them. Gotta love those LaTinAs. SO SPICY.
SUN_DAY
Still happening--but so far has been smashing! Went to the Ugarden and picked broccolis/smashed some slimy gourds. I also ate a dirty, just plucked carrot! (to the right) Afterwards, tagged along with some NEIGHbors to a sketchy murder kitchen that prepares food for lower income families and helped out! Although we didn't realize that the oven wasn't turned on for a long while and, later, that the collard greens got burned in the oven, it was still refreshing to shoot da shit with my garden gnomes. #bakinginVAIN.
After the collard green debacle, we decided to sample the food choices of the underbelly of Milledge Avenue a.k.a. Pepino's Pizzeria. Sassy waitresses, blinding neon strip club lighting, and loads of fake hanging grape decor greeted us. My rating you ask?
PRO: Pesto Pizza--unless you're allergic *wink*--then go with anything banana peppers. OMNOM.
CON: NO MOTZZIE STICKS.
And that's a weekenddddd wrap!

Nuci's S P A C E
Got invited to Nuci's Space (a venue/oasis for struggling local Athens musicians) last night by some of my Music Bizness frandds (C.CarusO) to see some local musica. Also, there was a FREE candy table and a raffle. you KNO i hiT DaT Upppp. (Won 3 chick-fil-a gift cards so booyeah, don't gotta spend my money at Pray The Gay Away, Inc, I can just use deese here vouchers)
First up on the Nuci's setlist was Androcles and the Lion and they weren't too shabby. Reminiscent of Explosions in the Sky. Lotta instrumental crescendos.
Snapped a clip of their osculating performance. The sound quality may be a little offff but tis all I have!
Explosion in the Sky sound-alike. Sounded like two peas in a pod to me (If you want to watch any ONE video on this blog, this is that video. MASTERPIECE, I TELL YOU.)
TO FINISH THE NIGHT at Nuci's was Will Weber, a DJ of sorts. I don't know if it was the lack of a "pump up the jam"-minded audience or that he tended to rely on generally slower songs but he just wasn't doing it for me. Maybe at Bad Manor while I'm getting seared with lazerbeams in my eyeballs I would enjoy it. Context Context Context.

Jour de ma vie
For I have done this unto myself, purged of my greatest triumph and folly; Jour de ma vie! A riled, wild muse in which I sowed and pruned elation and sorrow and whetted the Gemini blade of melancholy and happiness.
Now, the strings of my heart are as phlegmatic as they have ever been, an expectant calm.
Lethargically, beneath my slender chest they bind, curl, twist and grope.
Like the rolling of a train, they beckon a crescendo, crying out for it in whispering dialects.

QURIOUSity killed da kitty.
Yesterday I went to muh first meeting as a part of WUOG's (The local radio stations 90.5) Local Music Committee. We sat round table style on some plushy pizza cushions and Will, the head radio honcho (he has a beard), handed out new local band CDs! Each person gets an Athens band, gives it a listen, and reports back. I got Qurious's new album, Void Vanishing, that comes out November 20th! It only works on the CD player in my car so I don't have toooooo much to report yet but I be keepin ya posted.
Sample 2 of the songs on and see for yerself.
aLsO. aLsO!
Saw my frannnd Andrea [OnDreA] at Wuog. She's a very big deal there a.k.a. she's in with the parking deck people--MOST EXCLUSIVE GROUP ON CAMPUS.
I got to take home one of her oh-so-snazzy posters that she designed for Reptar's concert this weekend. Also, if you're not going to at least one day of Wuog Fest, all I gotsta say 2 yew is Whaaaaaa? and YouJokinBoi.
Get ticks here!!!!!
